How do I create my first recipe?

Tap the + Add button on the Recipes screen. Enter your recipe title, add photos, ingredients, step-by-step instructions, and cooking times. You can save your recipe as a draft and come back to edit it anytime.

What is version control for recipes?

Version control lets you experiment with recipes without losing the original. Clone any recipe to try variations, mark your favorite as the active version, and switch between versions anytime from the recipe detail page.

Can I import recipes from websites?

Yes! When creating a recipe, you can paste a recipe URL or text, and ChefsVox will automatically parse the ingredients and steps for you.

What is Cooking Mode?

Cooking Mode is a hands-free, step-by-step interface designed for the kitchen. Follow instructions one step at a time with built-in timers. You can use voice commands to say "next step" or "previous step" while your hands are busy cooking.

How do I scale a recipe?

On the recipe detail page, use the serving size multiplier to adjust all ingredient quantities proportionally. All measurements update automatically as you change the number of servings.

Add-Ins are reusable components like sauces, spice blends, marinades, and dressings. Create them once, then link them to multiple recipes. Their ingredients are tracked separately and included in your shopping lists.

How do I track recipe costs?

Add costs to individual ingredients in your recipes. ChefsVox will calculate the total cost and cost per serving, helping you understand the financial impact of your dishes.

How do I use the Shopping List?

Open any recipe and tap "Add All" to send all ingredients to your shopping list. You can also add items manually, adjust quantities, and mark items as purchased. View purchase history to see your past shopping trips and their costs.

Can I calculate nutrition facts?

Yes! ChefsVox can automatically calculate nutrition facts per serving. You can also manually enter nutrition information if you prefer.

How do I use voice dictation?

Open any recipe editor and tap the microphone button to start voice recording. Speak naturally to add ingredients, edit steps, set timers, or modify recipe details. Voice commands are converted to text automatically.

What voice commands can I use?

You can say: "add salt to 2 tablespoons" to modify ingredients, "edit step 3 to..." to change instructions, "set timer for 10 minutes", "next step", "previous step", "mark this step done", "rename this to [title]", "set servings to 6", or "add [item] to shopping list". Simply speak clearly and the app will understand your intent.

Voice commands aren't working in Cooking Mode.

Make sure you've granted the app microphone permissions. Try saying commands clearly and slowly. Voice commands work best in a quiet environment without background noise. Check your device volume and ensure your microphone is not muted.

What are Cookbooks and Menus?

Cookbooks and Menus let you publish curated collections of your recipes. Create beautiful digital cookbooks to share with friends or design restaurant-quality menus for special events. Both are available for sharing via a link.

How do I create a Cookbook?

Go to the Culinaria section and tap "Cookbook". Add your recipes, text blocks, images, and customize the design. You can arrange content via drag-and-drop and choose from different layout themes.

How do I create a Menu?

In Culinaria, tap "Menu" and start adding recipes or custom text blocks. Customize fonts, colors, and add decorative stickers. Menus are perfect for special occasions or restaurant service.

Can I share my Cookbooks and Menus?
